Case Study: Sheep feedlot: Darling Downs

This system uses a PS2-4000 CSJ8-15 pump with a total of 6480Watts. It pumps from a bore through one km of 75mm pipeline up to a tank. Water then gravity-feeds to distribute water for a 6000 head feedlot.

As well as the pump, all the polypipe and water infrastructure for the pens and troughs was supplied and installed by QLD Windmill and Solar. All the troughs get emptied twice a day with the operation of a custom-built ball valve on each line. There is also a FARMBOT telemetry system installed to monitor water levels.

In the diagram below, 1m3 = 1000 litres, so at 42m head, system is pumping on average around 115,000 litres per day.
